I am a Lecturer in Sociology and Quantitative Methods at the School of Social and Political Science, University of Edinburgh.
Previously, I was a Postdoctoral Prize Research Fellow at Nuffield College, University of Oxford (2021-2023) and a Research Associate in the Department of Global Health & Social Medicine at King's College London (2019-2021). I hold a PhD in Demography from the London School of Economics and Political Science.
I do research in social and family demography. My current projects include work on intergenerational family transfers and their relationship to inequality and social mobility. I am also interested in living arrangements, population ageing and long-term care, and the consequences of violence exposure for individuals and families.
My primary methods of analysis include multilevel models, multivariate analysis and causal inference methods. My teaching reflects my areas of expertise in demography and quantitative social science research methods.
